Tina Wallace - Badminton Style Blog - Show Jumping Day
Packing for Badminton when you're attending for 5 days is - I think harder than if I was taking Banksy with me!!
The first few days will be spent playing groom for my friend who is competing in the Grassroots Championships so I will be in my comfy casuals... however I am look forward to putting on some smarter attire at the end of the week for a lakeside drink or 3!
So let me talk a little about style inspiration for the Showjumping on Sunday...
After a fabulous few days walking the cross country course to catch the best fences, visiting all of the marvelous trade stands and carrying all your purchases back to the car (numerous times!) Sunday offers a slightly later start to the day allowing you to style yourself into something a little dressier.
Which leads me instantly to my FairFax and Favor Amiras, I’m a boot and handbag kind of girl... I love my accessories and am a strong believer in quality over quantity, therefore I love timeless classic pieces that can be worn alongside high street brands to give an effortlessly stylish look.
More often than not I pair my Amira’s with white skinny jeans, which I wouldn't necessarily recommend for Cross Country Day when having to kneel on the grass to capture images and Vlog footage. However SJ day, sat in the grandstand they will definitely be my go to leg wear... Although whilst writing this Blog I have checked the forecast and the BBC are getting my hopes up with highs of 20 degrees next Sunday, therefore I have just snuck in my Henri Lloyd striped jersey dress and a couple of pairs of shorts in anticipation!!
Knowing what the British weather is like and how much of a breeze can build up at Badminton, I intend to wear a my Coral Gant Blazer - I do love bright contrasting colors (those of you that follow the Vlog will know that from my choice of Nail Colours!)
I’m abit of a matchy matchy girl too hence the scarf!! I always like to have scarf to hand as it doubles up as a bit of cushion on those hard grandstands seats!!
Finishing the look with my Mackenzie & George Wycombe Belt, my Fairfax & Favor Amiras, my Mulberry Mini Bayswater HandBag and my Hiho Cherry Rollers sitting neatly alongside my Bi Metal Datejust.
Sun glasses are a must for me and I’ve become a fan of the Aviator Style over the last 12 months... I hate squinting which is why I’m often seen sporting a baseball cap.
Rob has agreed that the cap doesn’t really suit these outfits so his credit card is coming for a trip to the Mackenzie & George stand as I have my eye on one of their gorgeous Fedoras... The question is which colour?! We also know I’m awful at making decisions, but with his card I guess I could have one of each??!!
I hope everyone has an amazing Badminton and that M&Gs style blogs have helped you picky your outfits for the occasion.
Keep an eye on the insta stories, I’ll be there the whole week so do come and say hi if you’re nearby!!
Tina xx
